IBM is also a major research organization, holding the record for most patents generated by a business for 24 consecutive years.

Details of partnership:

IBM Academic Initiative is a comprehensive education program designed exclusively for students and faculty to accelerate their skills and knowledge. Keeping the “learner” as the focal point, the program curriculum brings together the latest software content, real-world industry experience, hands-on-lab courses and best practices.

IBM Academic Initiative has partnered with Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge (TASK )  to offer training to students and faculty in the areas of (1) Create Applications on IBM Cloud (2) Enhance Cloud Applications with Services and Security (3) Apply Continuous delivery and use Bluemix to manage Cloud Apps

Students pursuing 3rd year and 4th year of study in:

  • Bachelor of Engineering
  • Bachelor of Technology
Benefits for the beneficiaries:

IBM will provide a Trainer onsite to deliver 4 Train-The-Trainer (TTT) sessions, each with a minimum of 30 Faculty,

  • IBM will provide the necessary access to the Cloud Services for Faculty and Students to deliver in turn, the computer labs, as per the university curriculum or going beyond, towards value-added courses
  • IBM intends to facilitate the Industry Connect of colleges with IBM’s Ecosystem of business partners with a view to building industry relevance and capability that’s in demand – this could eventuate in engagements like panel discussions, guest lectures, hackathons, etc. at central locations such as the regional centers
  • IBM intends to provide a chance to students to prepare for and take up Professional Certification exams on IBM Cloud Application Development, by extending discount vouchers for the exam and providing necessary preparatory assets free of charge or at a nominal charge and by proctoring the exam on respective campus subject to minimum number of 60 students taking up the exam per campus.
  • IBM will provide an opportunity to take the Software Engineering Contest, TGMC to the colleges and provide students who are declared winners, a chance to be interviewed for Internship with IBM
